Javascript or CSS book

Recommend a book on Javascript and/or CSS 2.1 for a four day, internet free weekend, please.

Off to a cabin for Christmas, won't have internet access, will have a brand new Mac Laptop and can install MAMP on it.

Need to brush up on more advanced CSS and basic Javascript and building forms. Currently good with CSS and understand it, but could you a brush up while learning more advanced techniques. Need to learn Javascript and basic form building too.

What would you recommend for a book covering any or all of these techniques which one can kill 10-12 hours with over 4 days? Won't have internet access, barely any phone service so it needs to be a book.

Anonymous so certain people in our circle won't know we're gone.

Thank you and Merry Christmas!

I've read JavaScript: The Good Parts, and it's pretty good. Definitely aided my understanding of the language - I'd never heard of prototypes and whatnot before the book. It's pretty short, though, you'll want to have another book in addition to this one.

The Head First books are the best ones out there, in my opinion. Don't let the goofiness turn you off.

Head First Javascript would be just what you're looking for.

Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML is great, too, but it assumes no knowledge to begin with so it may be below your skill level.

DOM Scripting by Jeremy Keith was a great intro to Javascript for me. Here's the review that convinced me to buy.
