I'd like to get as many hours of Studs Terkel interviewing or just talking as I possibly can. On MP3. For free or very cheap.

I find that listening to the late, great Studs Terkel makes me feel generally better about everything, helps me to understand the world better and reinforces my sense of ethics.

I've found isolated tidbits here and there (recently on Fresh Air and Open Source and This American Life).

But I want MORE MORE MORE. More Studs.

I know he has great books but I like the sound of his voice as much as anything.

Any suggestions where to find more Studs? I got a fever, and the prescription is more Studs.

I can't help with the MP3s, but Studs appeared on Charlie Rose a couple of times, and on C-SPAN numerous times.

youtube is your friend, my friend ;-)

consider using a software like audio hijack pro if you want to capture and convert those videos to mp3 audio files.

For some reason, .rm/.ram files of Studs seem to be very popular. There's quite a bit here. If you're listening with an internet connection, no problem, right? Otherwise, as noted above, Audio Hijack.

Via iTunes, I subscribe to "This American Life" from Chicago Public Radio. One of the segments of their most recent podcasts (called "Who do you think you are?") was ALL Studs Terkel interviews dealing with how people felt during the depression.
