Please help me create the Ian Curtis look

I've obsessed about Joy Division for awhile now and I absolutely love the look that Ian Curtis and really the other members of Joy Division had. I don't want to be just a carbon copy of the look but I do want to have the style. The downside is that the only piece I really noticed that he wore is the standard peacoat (which I own). So I'm mainly just looking for pointers and helpful ideas. If it helps I'm 6'4, wear a size large and size 36 waist. Also feel free to mention styles that are close to the look he had.

Best answer: From what I can tell, the boys in Joy Division weren't exactly style icons, and Ian Curtis spent most of his time sweating through his shirts rather than revolutionizing their silhouettes.

Get thee to a thrift store: you'll find those narrow-collared shirts and high-waisted workman's pants. Men's short-sleeved dress shirts are also a must, but remember to roll up the sleeves around your bicep. Skinny ties, I think, would make sense, and even though Peter is rocking the knit sweater over the shirt and tie in the picture above, I think that style is appropriately Curtis-esque.

Best answer: AllSaints. The looks change with the seasons but the aesthetic is what you're looking for - fitted trousers and dress shirts, skinny ties, big winter coats with the collar up, epaulettes, military influences etc, all in requisite drab 1980's council estate colours.

Best answer: You'll be needing a US Army AG-274 raincoat.
