Can I connect to a SQL Server 2000 database using SQL Server 2005 Express?

Is this possible? Are their negative side effects?

I connect to MSSQL 2000 databases using the 2005 tools without issue basically daily.

I've never used MSSQL Express, but I would imagine they will work also.

Yes. No.
There's no access to DTS though.
