Are there any freeware add-ons for Microsoft Outlook that will allow you to create a message rule that will automatically mark your messages as read?

I can do that now through Outlook 2003 rule system. Rules -> New Rule -> Custom -> [select criteria] -> mark it as read.

Are you using an earlier version of Outlook? Or Outlook Express?

Yeah, you can already do that in all the versions of Outlook I've ever used. One thing you can't do, though, is get that stupid mail icon in the system tray to go away—not without AutoRead, that is.
