Arthouse Bathroom Sex

Trying to track down a British film (I think) that had an erotic scene in a public bathroom.
I watched bits of this movie in the early 90s. I've never been able to get the images out of my head, although I've long forgotten the name of the film. The scenes I remember involve a man and a woman flirting with each other in a restaurant, him stroking her leg under the table, followed by a hot scene in a bathroom stall. The man was attractive in a scruffy way, kind of like Robert Carlyle.

I don't know what it could be, but there's no way that THAT's the only scene the OP remembers from The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover.

It could well be Keane? Did the guy look rather like Damien Lewis? Though it's not British, the scene sticks well in my mind - unusual to see a sex scene with just a tight focus on the heads involved.

Not sure why this is anonymous, and not sure what your definition of hot is, but there's a scene in Captives with Julia Ormond and Tim Roth in a bathroom stall. . . I am just sayin'
