Where to Find Kronenbourg Beer in the U.S.

I'm in a desperate search for Kronenbourg beer in NYC. (More...)

I'm looking to buy some Kronenbourg beer (not Kronenbourg 1664, however) for a friend, and I'm having no luck. Beer distributor after beer distributor has told me that it simply isn't imported in the US, but I'm having a hard time believing this is true. Any ideas, besides giving up and suggesting my friend drink a better beer?

Two places to start your search:

They won't be your final destination, but if you can find someone at d.b.a. or The Peculier Pub and tell them your story, they'll be able to point you in the right direction if anyone can. (The folks at d.b.a. especially are plenty helpful in hunting down esoteric foreign beers.)

Try asking the importer, which is the Bowmont Corporation in Westport, CT. Their phone number seems to be (203) 454-7500. If it's distributed in the US they should be able to tell you where to find it.
