I'm looking for a listing, preferably something with citations of the actual state laws, of when each state changed it's laws to allow for the direct election of electors in the electoral college.

Try this article:

* State Law on the Nomination, Election, and Instruction of Presidential Electors
* Ruth C. Silva
* The American Political Science Review, Vol. 42, No. 3 (Jun., 1948), pp. 523-529 (article consists of 7 pages).
