"Stand-by-for-action-filter: I'd really like to make a Commando Cody Halloween costume (or Rocketeer, or any reasonable generic facsimile in between).

So I'd appreciate some tips or web sites on making such a thing as simply, cheaply, and resourceful as possible, because I can't really imagine ever seeing the need to wear it again. And there won't be any other geeks at the office party, so authenticity isn't a real issue.

There are a few screenshots linked above, and various photos here. I haven't really got any idea where to start with the helmet, control box, and jet pack. Papier mache? Household items wrapped in foil?

And where could I get tinting film in tiny quantities for the eye/mouth holes? Thanks in advance, citizens.

Jet pack is two large soda bottles taped together.

Control panel is cardboard.

Helmet is cardboard with pantyhose fabric stretched really tight across the eye and mouth holes.
