Find me a grant to give away art.

GrantFilter: Help my artist friend get a grant to pay for materials so he can donate art to hospitals and other public-benefit places.

My artist friend makes large, appealing digital art installations about 4x6 feet in size. He's in the permanent collection of the local government, has been exhibited in galleries, and has been accepted into a National juried show next month. (He's located in Southern California.)

He does not need money to get by. He wants to get a grant to pay for the materials cost (substrate, pigment, framing, delivery) of donating his large works to hospitals, VA centers and other public-benefit institutions. About $7500 per year would do it.

Help me find such a grant. Thanks.

One option is the Foundation Center - a great source for grant information.

Your friend should also talk to his local community foundation. Many hospitals have gifts of art programs which may be able to help find funding as well.
