Trail Recommendations for the Delaware Water Gap

Does anyone have any hiking trail recommendations for a weekend trip to the Delaware Water Gap?

I am coming from NYC and plan on spending at least two days and one night hiking at the Delaware Water Gap.

I have the NYNJ Trail Conference Map Kittatinny Trail set of maps and was hoping to use them.

I have talked to the people at the NY-NJ Trail Conference and they weren't much help since none of them have hiked the Delaware Water Gap.

Since we'll be driving one car, some sort of loop might be best, but we don't mind backtracking.

So does anyone have a specific route they've done that they'd like to recommend?

Best answer: I've hiked in that area a couple of times. I liked the loop hike to the top of Mount Tammany - the summit has great views of the Delaware River and the gap itself. The hike to Sunfish Pond was also nice. They both start from the Dunnfield parking area, just east of the PA/NJ border on I-80, and are described on the Park Service's page. You can also do a bigger loop with both destinations, as described here.

Ditto the recommendation of Mt Tammany and the sunfish pond loop. The haul up Tammany is a pretty good work out (we use it each year to help prepare for Mt. Washington).

Our usual route is the climb up to Tammany, out along the fire trails (past the helipad - if you also geocache check them out in the area), then I think it's a purple blazed trail that cuts towards sunfish, and then the AT back on out.
