In what ways did having children change you?

In a few months I will be a mother for the first time. I know this will be a completely life-changing experience; nothing will ever be the same and I honestly can't wait but I'm a bit scared of becoming a completely different person.

I'm interested in hearing how having children changed you (or your partner/spouse). I'm not really interested in the effects it's had on your lifestyle, your relationships or your physique but in how being a parent changed you as a person (if at all).
