Medical Marijuana? Anybody?

I have fibromyalgia. Marijuana helps. I have searched but don't get any first-person results. Does anyone have any experience with this?

What are you asking? Do you simply want to know whether other people find relief from fibromyalgia symptoms by using marijuana?

If so, you might consider contacting or searching the websites of some of the major advocacy and research organizations, such as NORML and MAPS.

A lot of my patients say the same thing.

I don't prescribe medical marijuana for any purpose.

I don't have fibromyalgia, but a friend of mine does. He has documented history of it, so he contacted a local office that helps connect patients with doctors willing to prescribe marijuana. I suggest looking for one in the phone book or newspaper. If you have a documented history with past doctors of pain from fibromyalgia and see the right doctor, you should have no issues obtaining a permit. Assuming that is, that your state laws allow for this.

I have 2 friends that use Marijuana to help relieve symptoms of Fibromyalgia. I'm in California so they both have recommendations from doctors that specialized in Marijuana recommendations. If you want to contact someone online you might want to go to- icmag.com, go to the forums section, and click on Dr Jay's Medical Marijuana Forum.

The Marijuana-based drug nabilone has been shown in placebo-controlled studies to be effective in treating Fibromyalgia. So it stands to reason that regular old mary jane would work too

Best answer: The federal government's war on drugs has made it very difficult to research the potential health benefits of marijuana. It sounds like you are looking for anecdotal support for using it, but there is some amount of research, linked here and here.

No one, not even in California, prescribes medical marijuana. Doctors can make recommendations for their patients, and that recommendation is what is accepted for medical cannabis ID cards.

I'm not sure whether you're asking if it works, which it sounds like you already know, or how to access it, which depends on which state and county you live in, or just for other anecdotes about it.
