AdvertisingFilter: Is there any place on this here interweb, that I can find out, short of contacting the companies or advertising agencies, what the names of actors that are in commercials?

There are alternatives to those two methods, but you're not going to find them on the web, at least not for free. The Screen Actor's Guild is one. Actors in commercials aren't hiding from anybody, that's for sure.
