DC pool search with subway access

I am looking for a facility with a swimming pool in DC

I am going to a conference in DC and would like to continue swimming while at the conference. I am looking for a 50 meter pool, which would allow a guest to swim for a week. The other part of this is for it to be near the subway line - then I can get to a hotel and the conference (love the DC subway.) The 50 meter and subway requirements are the trick.

Takoma Recreation Center. The trip planner at wmata.com says it's 0.45 miles south of the metro station.

DC Department of Parks and Rec. - Locations and Hours of Indoor Pool Facilities

Fees for non-residents.

Turkey Thicket has a brand new pool and is a short walk from the Brookland Metro.

The William H. Rumsey facility is next to the Eastern Market

The Rumsey pool is only 25 yards unfortunately. I don't know about Turkey Thicket.

Most pools in dc are only 25m or 25y, I think. The one exception I can think of is...crap... well, it's an outdoor pool anyway. (I'll try to remember, regardless.)

Note that in the Takoma pool linked above, the info says it's 50m, but the reviews say 25m.

Just a note: Even if you find a 50m pool, it may be set up short course since it's fall. If that matters, then I would definitely recommend calling ahead.

Yeah, most that I know of are 25 (in fact, I can't think of any 50m).

But also, don't you are at all about where in the city this pool is? It can take at least 1.5 hours to travel from some parts of greater DC to the other parts (i.e. Silver Spring, MD to Ballston, VA) by metro.

I have no idea how big it is, but you could stay at the Dupont Hilton which has its own swimming pool! Also, the YMCA in Logan Circle (well btw, dupont and logan) has a big pool. Again, no idea on the size, but I am pretty sure they do day passes.

Make sure it's open and not being renovated!
