Who took these remarkable photos?

I am really taken with these images, and I'd like to know the name of the photographer and where I can get prints or at least larger jpegs. (some images NSFW)
I can tell you that they (or some of them) were published in the New York Times magazine 3 or 4 years ago. Beyond that, good luck.

I don't know who it is, but thank you for posting this question. Those photos remind me a lot of Edward Hopper's paintings.

He's published a couple books. Did you not notice his name at the top of the page?

Best answer: you might want to stay in touch with your favorite museums as well. crewdson just had a great show at the chicago institute of art and I wouldn't be surprised to see that work appear at moma or moca some time soon. also: youtube has a lot of making-of videos. crewdson shoots with elaborate sets much like a film production.

Cheers, all. He's a favourite. I saw a show about him (and other modern photogs), and it was like he was shooting on a huge film set... extras, massive lights, a huge crew, etc. Must be very expensive to get these shots.

Crewdson didn't have a show at the Art Institute of Chicago recently. Maybe you are thinking of Jeff Wall, who also stages his photos. You might check PS1 in NYC for their catalogue (they did a retro). To the person who thinks it looks like Hopper: Williams College of Art did a joint Crewdson/Hopper exhibition! neat.

Dittoing Roger... sure, it's Crewdson, but his name was right on the page you pointed to. :)

you're right, I was thinking of my other idol, richard misrach (sugimoto would be the third in this trifecta).
