What Mac software is good for organizing large collections of live concert recordings? Something that is cheap or free, and makes it easy to store info.txt files, cover art and additional notes, then search, summarize and export lists. I know there is Windows software that is designed for this kind of thing, but can't find anything for OS X.

Maybe I'm missing something, but wouldn't iTunes work for this? The notes could go in the comments field of the recordings, or if you really wanted to have separate info files, you could add PDF's to iTunes and tag them as part of the album.

Sorry, my question wasn't as clear as it should have been. The recordings themselves are mostly in DVD, CD or flac format, and not necessarily stored on the computer. The database is just for the information about them, not the files themselves. The artwork is what you'd print off as a DVD cover when giving a copy to a friend, and has the back cover with track listings and whatnot, and sometimes inside pages, and each recording might have several alternate versions.
Adding PDFs to albums in iTunes is a great idea for the subset of this stuff that makes it into iTunes though.

Ah, I see.

Bento and Filemaker are the main database apps for the Mac, but they're not free.

You might also try a more freeform organizer app like EagleFiler, Yojimbo, or SOHO Notes.
