Li Batteries

I have a laptop (Sony Vaio R505) with a lithium ion battery. Last night, I used the machine fine with out it being plugged into the wall (for about 2 hours). Today, when I tried using the machine after a full charge, it died within half an hour. I'm currently using XP with SP2 and google'd all the user groups. Any suggestions other than buying a new battery?

Do you have Sony's battery meter thingy installed? Came on a secondhand Vaio I bought which had about two minutes battery life. The meter told me that the battery had been through hundreds of charges and was very worn. Buying a new battery (ebay's the place) fixed it.

If possible, try and find someone with a Vaio which uses the same battery and see if their battery works in yours and vice versa...

As a fellow R505 user, let me just say that Sony's battery sucks.
