Question: Pimp My Soon-to-be-Married Feet.

I'm a girl, getting married in a boy's suit. What shoes do I wear ?

I'm getting married in October (YAY!). So, here's my suit.

I have small feet. Size 7. So I need a women's shoe. Boy's shoes are not an option. I've been looking at some Josef Seibel shoes .. since they are the only brands I know of that go a little more masculine ... but I'm not quite sure what style to go with. Is cross-stitching too informal ? and why, oh why must EVERYTHING have a heel ?

Pretty sure black is the way to go with the suit, but what style should I look for? Are there other brands that are little more boy-stylie ?

My first thought is a ladies' flat wingtip. That link shows a brown one, but of course you can get them in any color.

I would think that a nice black Oxford shoe would work. You ought to be able to find them in a women's 7 -- they are a staple of girls' private-school uniforms!

I found some online at Nordstrom by searching for Oxford in Women's Shoes. If the links work, some examples are are here and here

Ross Hommerson has great dress oxfords for women like this one.
Zappo's does carry men's shoes in sizes as small as a 3 (which should correspond to a women's 5, so smaller than you). Possibly other online retailers too; I mostly get women's shoes though so I don't know who else carries a wide variety of sizes in men's styles.

Oh and as you probably know, the skinniness of your feet matters too- my feet are normal width for a guy but that makes 'em extra wide for women's shoes (you might have the opposite issue). I don't know if Zappo's carries thin-width shoes too.

This page gives some suggestions.

And congrats, of course!

Nice suit! How much of a heel is too much? I think these Fitzwell's are very similar to MuddDude's dress shoes, but it does have a bit of a heel (not much bigger than the men's "lifts" I've seen in stores). This one and this one are similar, with an even flatter heel.

And congratulations!

There are actually quite a few black oxford or wing-tip men's shoes there that would fit you. And you have time to order a few and try 'em on.

And oh, wow, you will be super duper dapper and hawt. A million congrats.

They're quirky and classy and freaking awesome.
I would consider brown shoes if you wear a brown belt too. THe offset color can look good. I am a man without fashion sense, but my wife suggests I wear my brown wing tips with a dark suit. If your bride is wearing cowboy boots nice black boots would go with a suit (bolo tie?).

congrats!

if you have problems finding a men's 5, you can probably find a boy's 5.

i agree that contrast stitching is too casual for such a suit. i think doc marten makes women's wingtips that are not at all girly and may fit you better than men's shoes.

alternatively, i think a pair of pumas would look neat.

They're really well made, comfortable, good looking, available in small sizes and narrow widths, relatively inexpensive, and they ship quickly. I also have small feet and I bought my last pair of work shoes from them and couldn't be happier. Perhaps the Kenmoor for you?
