How to create your own flash video player with videos?

More specifically the videos I am making are longer than 10 minutes and I can't post them to youtube so now I am stuck trying to figure out how to make my own video player similar to youtube, college humor or break.

I am on a mac, and I am making the movies in iMovie.

Most sites I've seen trying to emulate YouTube, without programming a player themselves, use JW FLV Player.

JW FLV Player.

Seconded. Youtube and pretty much everyone else use the JW player. It may look different because it's skinned, but everyone uses it.

For the compression end of things, you can use FfmpegX (or the ffmpeg commandline utility, which you can download there or compile through macports, if you want) plus flvtool2 to encode/add metadata to your flv.

Can you post them to Vimeo? If so, there are numerous how-to guides on saving iMovie videos for Vimeo.

Not sure why you can't use YouTube though. Is it because of the length of the movie? If so, Vimeo definitely lets you post videos longer than 10 minutes.

Vimeo supports long length. Does your web provider have this service? I believe dreamhost has setup everything for in-line flash video without going to a third provider. Also have you considered dumping flash altogether and publishing to quicktime?
