Question: Fixing FF3

FireFox3-filter: New pop-up windows open but don't display anything. Help?

I've had a number of probs with getting FF3 tweaked back to how I had my FF2 streamlined, however one that I still can't seem to get sorted is the pop-up windows. When I click on a link that needs to open a new window (i.e. a chat-window for customer service with my bank, etc.), the window opens, but there's no address in the address bar and no page loads. Here's a site I recently StumbleUpon'd that gives the same issue when I click on the "enter" link. Any ideas? TIA.

Well, that definitely works for me. It's a Flash thingy. Are you running NoScript or anything that would be blocking Flash completely?

Not running NoScript. The only add-on I have that's close might be AdBlock, but I'm not sure how that could be doing it.

I'd try turning Adblock off and checking that site again, but unless your filter list is blocking all .swf, it's probably not the problem. I run Adblock and the site linked above came through fine. Still, it's worth a shot.

I have Adblock/FF3 and the site worked for me. Have you changed any of the about:config, custom settings?

Re: custom settings, I did have a tweak in my userChrome.css file to move my tab-bar to the side in FF2, similar to this. It got all funky when I installed FF3 so I tried to remove it but I may have screwed something up. Is there a way to restore my userChrome.css to its original state? I think that's more likely the issue than Adblock.

You could swap in the userchrome-example.css file to see if that takes care of things. It should be in the same directory as your userchrome.
