Getting started with (hobby) plastic welding/brazing?
For a while now, I've wanted to try kit-bashing model kits and action figures to create strange new vehicles and umm... male aspiration figures. My glue-fu was never up to the task though.
Through toolmonger, I heard about The Discovery Channel Power Welder which sounds like it might allow me to overcome my glue weaknesses. I don't have much familiarity with plastic welding/brazing though.
Should I start with the Discovery Channel toy one, or should I get something like the Harbor Freight one (which seems designed more for working with pipes)?
Is there a good information source for the beginner?
