I know it's a commercial. I know.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but I must know; here in Arizona, Cox Communication's has been playing a commercial featuring little blue visored characters running around doing crap. In the background of one of the commercials, there's a really beautiful acoustic song playing. I don't know any of the words. I can't find it on google, I can't find it on Youtube. As awesome as I know Askmefi is, I'm pretty sure this will stump all ya'll...

There's not much more to say other than it's NOT the 'pod' commercial. It's a longer commercial with the little men running around and the music in the background is a guy singing over an acoustic guitar. The song has been lodged in my brain and I'm dying to know who it is. Help?

The Cox Communications Digis advertising campaign is run by W.B. Doner Advertising.

The other three ads (besides 'Pod') don't seem to have made it online yet. Looks like Lane and Jan at Duck Studios actually created the commercials, which should presumably show up at plokent's Digis link eventually.

If there's a way for you to record and upload the commercial in question, or even just an audio clip of it, that would be helpful. You might also want to try asking the good folk at AdTunes.

Also, from what I can see there are plans for a Digis microsite on cox.com and social networking profiles for the little buggers as well. If it's anything like Digital Max's microsite, it'll have mp3s from the commercials that you can download/identify. All the propaganda I'm seeing is from two months ago or so and gives a rollout timeline of 'sometime soon'. So, uh, patience my friend.

We have a service in the UK called Shazam - you call 2580 on your mobile phone - hold your phone near a speaker playing a piece of recorded music - the system identifies the track name and artist, then sends you a text.

Obviously the track will only be identified if it's on their database, but (during the admittedly limited attempts i've had - it cotst 50p a go) i've yet to find a track to stump it yet.....

In the top comment in their pod commercial video somebody says "There is a song in the new commercial with these little pod things and i can't find it anywhere, anybody know what it is? He says something about help me through it all....."

Is that your commercial? Does the song you're thinking of have the words "help me through it all" or something similar? I know The Glory of Love has those words but it's probably not what you're looking for.

Shazam also has an iPhone application if you know anyone with one of those. the application is free.
