How can I read the Trump Trial transcripts with a screen reader?
It's a simple question, and I thought the answer was on this page, but it's not accessible with my screen reader. I am interested in reading the transcripts and other evidence as much as is possible, for curiosity if nothing else. [more inside]

Looking for a specific article/news release from October re: Israel
I have a memory that very early on, like maybe October 10 or the like, there was an IDF social media post featuring a very old veteran pitching in, wearing the modern uniform. It was then alleged by others that the same man was on the public record as having participated in a rather grievous crime.
The problem: Lost in the flood of news, I can't find *anything*. At very least, the original post did occur, I'm confident I didn't hallucinate it whole-cloth. [more inside]

Can a business use someone else's YouTube videos online for $$?
If a business has a fully pre-recorded online class/course that they charge money for, can they put other people's YouTube videos in the course? YouTube's Terms of Service are a mess and copyright law is unlcear (to me). Is that monetizing someone else's work? [more inside]

Looking for tweet about militias and the beginning of the civil war
I ran across a tweet from a self-described anarchist historian that discussed how the early days of the first American civil war were typified by a lot of militias making incursions into other states and all kinds of fluidity that after the fact was constructed into a narrative about both sides coherently choosing sides, that the war had its beginnings long before Fort Sumter. Can anyone help me find that tweet thread, or perhaps point me to some alternative anarchist interpretations of the beginning of the war? [more inside]

Sex offender being creepy but not breaking the law, what to do?
A car drives past our bus stop at least once every morning, sometimes up to three times. Four kindergarteners and their moms. The driver makes eye contact with us and licks his lips and rubs his hands together. Sometimes he points at the kids and gives a thumbs up. Lo and behold he’s a registered sex offender in the neighborhood with four counts of solicitation of a child. I have called the police and so have other parents. Is there anything else to do? laws about how early the trash can be picked up in Oakland, CA?
The garbage trucks are coming super early, multiple times a week, in my neighborhood in Oakland, CA. Is there a law that governs how early they're allowed to come? I heard 6am is the law but I can't find it on the books. A link to the law would be really helpful! Otherwise, who would be the point of contact to get the times moved later, and have you successfully done this?
What would happen to you if you were deported from US to Russia 1930

Delayed insurance settlement $, how long do they have to pay?
I listed my car on the Getaround car sharing platform, and someone totaled it. Getaround sent it to their claims adjuster and they determined the amount they will reimburse me. This is fine, but it's been 6 weeks with no $. Getaround has not given me an ETA for payment. They are headquartered in San Francisco, California. How do I determine how much time they have, legally speaking, to pay me? [more inside]

What if all jurors are threatend after jury is seated and trial started?
As I understand it in a criminal trial there are some alternate jurors who hear the case but are not involved in rendering the final verdict. What happens if the defendant, just before deliberations begin, threatens to beat up all the jurors who vote to convict? If there are not 12 alternate jurors to replace the ones now fearing for their lives what is the outcome? And anyway, the alternate jurors will also be intimidated by the threat. Would you have to start the trial over? Will there be a default ruling of guilty by the judge?

State's Actions
With the release of the movie, "Civil War", I have to wonder if, since the first civil war, states have had plans or considerations to protect themselves against other states in case of a second civil war? I can't believe this isn't something the RAND Corporation hasn't studied for the federal government.

1st court appearance for 2 DUIs in one week. Go straight to jail?
My friend was arrested for drunk driving twice within a week with blood alcohol levels of .38 the first time and .40+ the second. He wasn't arrested or booked and taken straight to the hospital for medical detox. He hit 3 cars, a stop sign a fence and didn't stop for the police. He's facing four felonies for all that. Regardless, he never had to post bail and never even saw a police station. He is a clear danger to himself and others. Will he be arrested at his first court arraignment? [more inside]
